As we pray let us give thanks to God for all that we have been forgiven.
Lord God, thank you for sending us your Son to take away the sin of the world. As we obey the
commandment to love one another as you love us, may we also forgive one another as you
forgive us when we truly repent. Help us to understand that forgiveness is one of our deepest
needs – it is the heart of scripture and the heart of the Gospel. May you give us opportunities to
declare your truth to others so they too can experience your saving grace.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord God, we pray for your church here at Lyonshall and throughout the world carrying the gospel
of freedom and forgiveness that is much needed in our world today. We pray for Reverend Anna,
for this congregation and for all who willingly give their time to keep this church open and ready for
all services. We pray for King Charles, for the Royal family, for all in positions of authority, and for
all who were unable to join us today.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord God, we call to mind the stormy areas of our world, the raging and the insecurity, the
confusion and bewilderment, the restlessness and fear, may your calming and reassuring
presence be sensed and recognised to bring peace and goodness, righteousness and hope. We
pray especially for peace and an end to war in Ukraine and all areas where there is hatred and
violence, knife crimes and gun crimes.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord God, the source of life and health we ask you to comfort and heal all those who suffer in
body, mind, or spirit; give them courage and hope in their troubles; and bring them the joy of your
salvation. We pray for those whom we know to be ill at this time, ease their pain and lead them
onto the path of wellness. We pray for all cancer patients, for those in hospital and for those
anxiously waiting for operations, praying especially for James.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord God, we pray for all people affected by weather related disasters around the world praying for
those affected by recent wildfires, heat waves, floods, hurricanes and storms. We pray for those in
East Africa suffering from drought and famine. We pray for our local community, for the elderly, for
children as they return to school, for the local food bank, and for our farmers as they gather in the
grain harvests.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord of life, we remember with love and gratitude the lives of those who have died in faith, we
commend them to your eternal rest and unchanging affection. We pray for those whose
anniversary occurs around this time – we remember Queen Elizabeth II. We pray for the many
who have lost their lives through war. May you comfort the bereaved, lift them from the depths of
grief and into the light of your presence.

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ,
Amen
